Hiring Announcement: Welding Engineer – Oil & Gas Job Code: JC26-142 Location: Qatar Educational Qualifications & Certifications Post-Graduate Degree in Welding Engineering OR Bachelor’s Degree in Material/Metallurgical Engineering with IWE/European Welding Engineer (EWE) certification. Experience Requirements Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the construction of Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry facilities (e.g., pressure vessels, tanks, mechanical fabrication, pipelines, piping, etc.). Key Technical Competencies & Skills Welding Processes: SMAW, GMAW, SAW, FCAW, GTAW, and other relevant processes. Materials & Fabrication: Strong knowledge of materials, welding, and fabrication methods in the Oil & Gas industry. Specialized Metallurgy: Expert knowledge in welding high-strength pipeline steels and Corrosion Resistant Alloys (CRA). Material Behavior: Knowledge of corrosion, fracture, fatigue, creep, and embrittlement behavior of welded joints. Testing: Knowledge of chemical, mechanical, metallurgical, and corrosion tests. Technical Operations: Preparation of Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS). Selection of welding consumables. Qualification of welding procedures. Diagnosing and resolving welding-related problems. Undertaking weldment failure analysis. Codes & Standards: Conversant with international codes (ANSI/ASME, ASTM, API, BS, EN, MSS, ISO, etc.).
